“What happens in between and around the notes?” is the most important feature of Indian classical music.
In the masterclass we will focus on the movements in between notes and the slow melodic development of a specific raga.
How to improvise with just a few notes using minimal changes in the approach of a note, understanding the “in between”, understanding the importance of silence.
This masterclass is open for all that are interested in using the voice in this specific way.

Marianne Svašek is a teacher of classical Indian Singing at the Rotterdam Conservatory.
She studies in the Netherlands and India with several master teachers.
She was awarded with a gold medal at the Dhrupad Mela in Varanasi in 2014.
Marianne gives workshops and concerts in Europe, the US, India and Pakistan.
